Rock House Creamery Now Offering Tours and Tastings

Rock House Creamery Kicks Off the School Year with tours of its dairy operations and certified naturally grown farm

NEWBORN, GA – (September 1, 2017) – Rock House Creamery is opening its doors to the public for educational tours. Visitors are invited to tour Rock House Creamery, meet the team and its cows, and sample a variety of Rock House Creamery’s fresh dairy products.

Rock House Creamery, formerly Johnston Dairy Farm, has been a working dairy since 1940. The current owners are carrying on the tradition of providing high quality, dairy products to the local community. Rock House Creamery is currently producing creamline whole milk, cheese curds, a fresh fromage spread, cheddar cheese and a tomme.

“We are committed to providing the highest quality products. And we have some exciting new products in the works, including our chocolate milk, which we just started bottling last week,” said Keith kelly, owner, Rock House Creamery.

Tour guests will get to sample the creamery’s much-anticipated premium chocolate milk which will be sold at Farmview Market in Madison. Guests will also visit the extensive vegetable gardens at the Garden at Broughton, adjacent to the creamery and get hands-on experience with harvesting vegetables on a working garden.

“Rock House Creamery and Garden tours are a great opportunity to learn about local agriculture and get an inside look at how milk and cheese are made,” says Jessica Donelow, manager at Rock House Creamery. “We will be offering regular tours and field trips and hope to get people excited about agriculture.”

The first tour will take place on Saturday, September 9. The cost is $12, or tickets can be purchased in packs of 4 for $40. Tickets must be purchased in advance here. Space is limited. Special rates apply for school groups.
