Farmview Market is featured in Georgia Eats for having one of the “100 Plates Locals Love.” This coveted distinction comes from the Georgia Department of Economic Development’s (GDEcD) Tourism Division.
“Culinary experiences continue to be one of the top drivers of visitor interest when planning a vacation,” said Kevin Langston, deputy commissioner for tourism. “Georgia offers visitors unique food and beverage experiences in every corner of the state, and the Georgia Eats guide makes it easy for visitors and locals to discover the many flavors of Georgia.”
The GDEcD Tourism Division highlights the state’s culinary greatness in the official guide Georgia Eats. Georgia Tourism created “100 Plates Locals Love” to provide visitors with locally sourced options, the same way we would recommend restaurants to our family and friends.
“We are thrilled to be included in Georgia Eats. Our mission at Farmview is to introduce our guests to the great local food products our state has to offer. We want to provide a superior dining experience for each guest, and share information about the farmers and growers behind our brand,” said Keith Kelly, owner Farmview Market.
This year, more than 750 plates were nominated via ExploreGeorgia.org and evaluated by a panel of judges. The third annual list of “100 Plates Locals Love” features favorite dishes from across the state.
Farmview’s Southern Cobb Salad was nominated as one of 10 plates selected from Georgia’s Historic Heartland. This delicious entrée salad has Reedy Creek greens, local cherry tomatoes, Farmers cheese, Farmview bacon, deviled eggs and crispy onions.
“My inspiration for this dish was a southern take on an American classic,” said Chef Jeff Daniell.
Breakfast includes hearty biscuit sandwiches like the Heritage with local Berkshire pork, caramelized onions and arugula. And, on the lighter side, enjoy the Peach State Parfait or the summer scramble with farm fresh eggs and goat cheese. There is also an assortment of daily made pastries, scones and cinnamon rolls.
Lunch highlights include the Pimen-Tom-Cheese sandwich served warm on ciabatta with a fried green tomato and bacon; the Farmview burger with pimento cheese, house made bacon, crispy Vidalia onion rings; and fried catfish.
The Chef’s Farm Table Wed-Sat 11a-2p offers traditional southern food with fried chicken and fish and local vegetables cooked the way your grandmother made them.
