Keeping It Simple
Cassie Carter grew up on a working cattle ranch in northeastern Oklahoma. She had goats, chickens, pigs, a huge vegetable garden—and of course, cattle. She has always had a passion for "home-grown" especially when she was the one growing it.
Working on the ranch took a lot of hard work and sacrifice, but the rewards were plentiful. Supplying friends and family with good healthy food for their families was well worth all the struggles and hardships. Cassie feels that lessons learned on the ranch go hand-in-hand with soap making.
“Hard work and dedication are a must when creating something beautiful to share with others,” Cassie said.
“My family and I handcraft all-natural soap and body care products that are safe for the whole family. All of our ingredients are 100% all-natural. We never use any harsh chemicals or man-made synthetic materials. Our soap base consists of olive oil, coconut oil, and shea butter. Using essential oils, roots, clays, and herbs gives Cheeky Maiden’s soaps and body care products an unbeatably refreshing sight and smell."

Cassie moved to Atlanta in 2008, where she met her husband, Nicholas. They were married in 2011 and two years later their daughter, Shiloh, was born. It was then that Cassie started soap making.
"Learning how to make soap has been a very rewarding experience," Cassie said. "Pulling the first batch of soap out of the mold was a little nerve-racking with Shiloh on my back, heart pounding, and palms sweating. The soap came out beautiful! What a feeling of accomplishment I felt when we sliced those first bars of soap."
Today Cheeky Maiden Soap Co. is a family run business dedicated to making natural and affordable body care and household cleaners.

Thoughtfulness and attention to detail are part of every element of Cheeky Maiden's product design: from fairly traded, completely natural ingredients to packaging and presentation.
Cheeky Maiden's philosophy is that each bar of soap should last, lather well, cleanse well, and moisturize the skin—keeping it simple with only a few base oils to be most effective. Both Cassie and the brand she has grown believe that transparency, purity, quality, and integrity are also essential ingredients of effectiveness and authenticity.
